You got to want it to have it !
When I decided to get sober, I knew it wasn’t going to be easy. Sobriety isn’t just about stopping substances... it’s about reclaiming my life and my sense of self. There were cravings, doubts, and moments when giving in seemed more straightforward than holding on. But each time I reminded myself why I started!
Action followed desire. I built routines, asked for support, and celebrated every milestone, even the small ones. Each day sober became a building block in the life I’m proud to live. Today, I can look back and see how far I’ve come, and it’s incredible to realise that one choice on one day, March 1st, 2024, changed everything.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: you can achieve sobriety if you truly, deeply want it. Desire alone isn’t enough! You have to act on it! But that genuine wanting is the spark that makes change possible.
So here I am, 663 days sober, living proof that if you really want to make a change, you can. And every single day, I choose to keep that promise to myself.
